ATTENTION ALL MEMS ATHLETES & PARENTS:

Please complete registrations as early as possible in order to avoid delays in processing and getting cleared to participate. Click on REGISTRATION CHECKLIST underneath. Sports Physicals may be completed any time after March 1, 2026 and are valid until May 31, 2027. 

Registration Requirements

1. Register for sport(s) of student’s choice, by Registration in Aktivate
2. Sports Physicals may be completed any time after March 1, 2026 and are valid until May 31, 2027. The same physical exam may be used for multiple sports throughout the year, unless the athlete's health changes or they are injured.
3. Pay the Athletic Sport Fee of $75 

Academic Eligibility Requirement

1. Maintain a grade of 2 or better in all classes, any grades below a 2, will not be eligible.
2. Grade check will be done at the beginning of each week 
3. Participage in games and practice with best efforts, please be respectful to team mates, coaches, officials and Staff. 

Student Transportation 

Ensure transportation for student-athlete each day either by late bus (Not all students qualify for the FUSD late bus transportation) or parent pick up. 
Practices end promptly at 5pm each day.

Middle school sports is an opportunity for learning and that coaches and officials graciously share their time to create these opportunities for our athletes. I will remain supportive and respectful of all participants, coaches and officials throughout the sports season(s). I will make any concerns known to the MEMS Athletic Director or other site Administrator.

MEMS 2026-2027 Sport Registration Dates

Fall Sports (Coed Cross Country, Girl’s Volleyball, Boys’ Soccer):

Registration for all Fall Sports is DUE no later than Friday, August 21, 2026.

• The week of Monday, August 24, 2026 practice begins for Cross Country, Girl’s Volleyball, and Boys’ Soccer.
  • Athletes should bring tennis shoe, socks, athletic clothes (gym shorts or sweats & t-shirt), and a water bottle for practice.
  • Student-athletes are required to attend the skills assessments

Volleyball Tournament games will be held the week of October 26^th – tentatively Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Exact dates TBD. 

Soccer Tournament will be held the week of October 26^th – tentatively Monday – Thursday. Exact dates TBD.

Transportation:

• Transportation is extremely limited this year. We will be able to drive 42 students to each meet. All other athletes will need to be driven to meets by their parents or guardians. If you are able to, please consider driving your child to their meets and/or carpooling. We will have students sign up for a spot on the bus at the beginning of the week before each meet. 

• If you are able to drive your child, please fill out the following form online, at the front office, or send it to practice with your child: Transportation Release Form 

• Athletes MUST be picked up from their meets. We will not be able to drive athletes back to the school after meets. 

**PLEASE NOTE: ALL athletes will walk to the Buffalo Park meet on September 29, so no transportation is required. All athletes must be picked up after the meet. 

Eligibility: 

Coaches will receive a list notifying us of athletes with failing grades and who are ineligible to run in the meet on Thursday UNLESS they improve their grade to a 2 before then. 

Home Meet:

Our home meet at Buffalo Park is September 29th. Please keep an eye out for an email with more information regarding parent volunteers and donations. 

Co-Ed Cross Country (all grade levels)

• Games for Boys’ Soccer and Girls’ Volleyball will begin the week of September 14, 2026.
• Post season games and tournaments will be held the week of Monday, October 26, 2026.

Winter Sports (Coed Wrestling and Girls’ Basketball):

Registration for Wresting is Coming Soon

Friday, November 13, 2026 – Registration for Girls’ Basketball is due no later than that Friday.

• Skills assessments for team placement for Girls’ Basketball will be held the week of Monday, 

November 16, 2026 – Student-athletes are required to attend the skills assessments.

• Official practices will begin the week of Monday, November 30, 2026.
• Games for Girls’ Basketball will begin the week of Monday, January 4, 2027.
• Post season games and tournaments will be held the week of Monday, February 8, 2027.

Spring Sports (Girls’ Soccer and Boys’ Basketball):

Registration for all Spring sports is due no later than Friday, February 19, 2027.

• Skills assessments for team placement for Boys’ Basketball and Girls’ Soccer will be held the week of Monday, February 22, 2027. Student-athletes are required to attend the skills assessments.
• Official practices for Boys’ Basketball and Girls’ Soccer will begin the week of Monday, March 1, 2027.
