Welcome to Mount Elden Middle School Athletics
ATTENTION ALL MEMS ATHLETES & PARENTS:
Please complete registrations as early as possible in order to avoid delays in processing and getting cleared to participate. Click on REGISTRATION CHECKLIST underneath. Sports Physicals may be completed any time after March 1, 2026 and are valid until May 31, 2027.
Registration Requirements
- Register for sport(s) of student’s choice, by Registration in Aktivate
- Sports Physicals may be completed any time after March 1, 2026 and are valid until May 31, 2027. The same physical exam may be used for multiple sports throughout the year, unless the athlete's health changes or they are injured.
- Pay the Athletic Sport Fee of $75
Academic Eligibility Requirement
- Maintain a grade of 2 or better in all classes, any grades below a 2, will not be eligible.
- Grade check will be done at the beginning of each week
- Participage in games and practice with best efforts, please be respectful to team mates, coaches, officials and Staff.
Student Transportation
Ensure transportation for student-athlete each day either by late bus (Not all students qualify for the FUSD late bus transportation) or parent pick up.
Practices end promptly at 5pm each day.

Middle school sports is an opportunity for learning and that coaches and officials graciously share their time to create these opportunities for our athletes. I will remain supportive and respectful of all participants, coaches and officials throughout the sports season(s). I will make any concerns known to the MEMS Athletic Director or other site Administrator.
MEMS 2026-2027 Sport Registration Dates
Fall Sports (Coed Cross Country, Girl’s Volleyball, Boys’ Soccer):
Registration for all Fall sports is due no later than Friday, August 21, 2026.
- Cross Country practice begins the week of Monday, August 24, 2026.
- A meet schedule will be sent out shortly after the season begins.
- Skills assessments for team placement for Boys’ Soccer and Girls’ Volleyball will be held the week of
Monday, August 24, 2026. Student-athletes are required to attend the skills assessments.
- Official practices for Boys’ Soccer and Girls’ Volleyball will begin the week of Monday, August 31, 2026.
- Games for Boys’ Soccer and Girls’ Volleyball will begin the week of September 14, 2026.
- Post season games and tournaments will be held the week of Monday, October 26, 2026.
Winter Sports (Coed Wrestling and Girls’ Basketball):
Registration for Wresting is Coming Soon
Registration for Girls’ Basketball is due no later than Friday, November 13, 2026.
- Skills assessments for team placement for Girls’ Basketball will be held the week of Monday,
November 16, 2026. Student-athletes are required to attend the skills assessments.
- Official practices will begin the week of Monday, November 30, 2026.
- Games for Girls’ Basketball will begin the week of Monday, January 4, 2027.
- Post season games and tournaments will be held the week of Monday, February 8, 2027.
Spring Sports (Girls’ Soccer and Boys’ Basketball):
Registration for all Spring sports is due no later than Friday, February 19, 2027.
- Skills assessments for team placement for Boys’ Basketball and Girls’ Soccer will be held the week of Monday, February 22, 2027. Student-athletes are required to attend the skills assessments.
- Official practices for Boys’ Basketball and Girls’ Soccer will begin the week of Monday, March 1, 2027.
- Games for Boys’ Basketball and Girls’ Soccer will begin the week of Monday, March 29, 2027.
- Post season games and tournaments will be held the week of Monday, May 3, 2027.

Coaching Opportunities
MEMS offers coaching opportunities in Cross Country, Girls' Volleyball, Boys' and Girls' Soccer, Boys' and Girls' Basketball, and Wrestling.
We are always in need of coaches.
- A great opportunity to support youth athletics and our students.
- Coaches are all paid a $1,000 stipend per sport.

All coach candidates must apply through the FUSD online application system and have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Referee Opportunities

Our referees are essential to our ability to provide interschool game opportunities for our students. This is a great way you can contribute to a positive experience for our students who participate in our athletic programs.
- Referees are compensated $40 per game for basketball and soccer, and $30 per game for volleyball.
- Table workers are compensated $20 per game for all sports.
