Welcome to Mount Elden Middle School Athletics

ATTENTION ALL MEMS ATHLETES & PARENTS:

Athletic registration for the 2025-26 school year is open. Please complete registrations as early as possible in order to avoid delays in processing and getting cleared to participate. Click on REGISTRATION CHECKLIST underneath. Sports Physicals may be completed any time after March 1, 2025 and are valid until May 31, 2026. The same physical exam may be used for multiple sports throughout the year, unless the athlete's health changes or they are injured.

Please review the Athletics Registration Checklist below (all links are included) to make sure you have completed all of the necessary steps for participation in MEMS athletics. All items are due by the registration deadline for each specific sport.

Fall Sports

Registration due August 15, 2025. 

  • Cross Country practice begins the week of Monday, August 18, 2025.

    *A meet schedule will be sent out shortly after the season begins.

    Cross Country (meet on the SOFTBALL FIELD): 

    Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

     

  • Skills assessments for team placement for Girls’ Volleyball will be held the week of Monday, August 18, 2025.

    Student-athletes are required to attend the skills assessments. 

    • Practice for Girls’ Volleyball will begin the week of Monday, August 25, 2025.
    • Games for Girls’ Volleyball will begin the week of September 8, 2025.
    • Post season games and tournaments will be held the week of Monday, October 20, 2025.

    Girls Volleyball (meet in the GYM): 

    • Monday & Wednesday – Practice: JV2, JV3 & JV4
    • Tuesday & Thursday – Practice: V1, V2 & JV1

     

    Volleyball Game Schedule, Fall 2025

    A couple of important notes for families: 

    1. All games will begin at 4:00 pm and will be over by 5:00 pm. Students must be picked up by 5:00 pm at their game location. 
      1. Transportation is only provided TO the game location. We will NOT be transporting students back to MEMS after the game. Families must pick up their student at the game location. 
    2. Tournament games will be held on Tuesday 10/21, Wednesday 10/22, and Thursday, 10/23.

    • Post season games and tournaments will be held the week of Monday, May 4, 2026.

     

Coaching Opportunities

MEMS offers coaching opportunities in Cross Country, Girls' Volleyball, Boys' and Girls' Soccer, Boys' and Girls' Basketball, and Wrestling. 

We are always in need of coaches. 

  • A great opportunity to support youth athletics and our students.
  • Coaches are all paid a $1,000 stipend per sport.

All coach candidates must apply through the FUSD online application system and have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Referee Opportunities

Our referees are essential to our ability to provide interschool game opportunities for our students. This is a great way you can contribute to a positive experience for our students who participate in our athletic programs.

  • Referees are compensated $30 per game for basketball and soccer, and $20 per game for volleyball.
